The Midway Geyser Basin in Yellowstone National Park is full of volcanic activity. The trees struggle to survive there. While walking on the path there, I saw this barren flat with dead trees all around it and had to take a photo of it.
I used a wide angle on my camera and crouched down so as to get the base of the nearest trees.
In post processing the photo, there was a lot of distortion and the trees curved inward from either edge because of the wide angle lens. I corrected for this and added a little fill light so I could see the detail of the near trees.
Yellowstone National Park is an excellent place for photographers to get good photos. The natural beauty is astounding.
