These shore birds were going back and forth as the waves rolled in on Tigertail Beach on Marco Island, Florida. Each time, they would bend over to pluck things out of the sand before the waves would come in and they would run back. Then they would start over, waiting for the waves to recede.
Timing was everything for this photo. I chose a short shutter speed to capture the quick movements of these birds. I waited for just the right moment when their heads were down. Only a split second later and they were up and ran back as the water came in.
For this photo, I toned down the upper and lower parts of the image. I wanted the birds to be the focus and the brightest...
Why I do what I do: I enjoy uplifting and inspiring others by capturing and creating beautiful photos and works of art. I print them on a variety of materials. About the prints: For paper prints, Somerset Velvet and Metallic are good choices. You can choose your own matting and frames to match your taste and decor. Frame-less options include metal, canvas, and acrylic. The prints all look outstanding on these types of materials. Are you interested in learning photography? Visit my BLOG at NEGATIVEMOMENTS.COM.
