Maui is a beautiful island. Every photo seems to be almost perfect. Even something as simple as a row of palm trees becomes something of beauty here.
I took this photo at the Hyatt Kaanapali looking out toward the island of Lanai. The light from the setting sun was hitting the trees and lighting up their undersides. The air was still so the palm leaves were crisp with detail in the final shot.
In post-processing this photo, I realized it looked a lot like one that Peter Lik took for his "Maui: Hawaiian Paradise" book. The look of the trees was almost the same and with some adjustments, I was able to make them look nearly exactly like those in...
